Christina Tran

Christina (Tina) Tran is a veterinary member of the Investigative Committee. She was first appointed during the December 13, 2017 board meeting and subsequently reappointed during the January 15, 2020 and January 19, 2022 board meetings. During her most recent (2022) reappointment, concerns were raised that Tran's wide number of activities were impacting her attendance record on the Investigative Committee. It was suggested that she could be moved to an alternate status in the event she was overextended.

Tran now works as Associate Professor of Practice and Clinical Relations Lead Veterinarian at the University of Arizona's new college of veterinary medicine (link). UA's vet program was also a popular landing spot for other veterinarians including former AzVMA president, assistant dean, and past respondent James Maciulla along with multiple-time past respondent Sarah Carotenuto.

Tran was also a founding board member and past president of the Multicultural Veterinary Medical Association (link), a board member at the Veterinary Virtual Care Association (link), and a board member at veterinary clinic amalgamator Rarebreed Veterinary Partners (link). She's also heavily quoted in articles, blogs, and a variety of other news and news-like sources on the Internet.

In 2015, Tran served on the same AVMA accreditation site visit team to Colorado State University as fellow future board investigator Brian Sidaway. This was despite Tran still working at Purdue University and Sidaway working as dean at Midwestern University getting the new school ready for its own accreditation. It's just another example of how small the veterinary community actually is.

Tran went on to serve as a Director for the Arizona Veterinary Medical Association for the 2020 to 2023 term, representing the AzVMA's Maricopa District. There her term overlapped with fellow board investigator Cameron Dow as well as respondents Kara Thomas, Rachael McKinney, and Tara-Lyn Temple.
